We’ve been extremely busy here at Off Grid Energy. Here’s another batch of GridtoGo units ready to leave the workshop.
Production of the GridtoGo units has increased dramatically as the portable sets are deployed to various sites around the UK.
Because the GridtoGo unit is a clean and silent alternative to a generator it can be used anywhere. It uses energy stored in its batteries and can incorporate renewable forms of energy to top up the cells. Our customers have also found they have made great savings in fuel costs.
Along with our head office in Rugby and our R & D facility in Wincanton we are very pleased to have recently moved into new workshop premises in Pelham Road Rugby.
Grid to Go was featured at the Barhale Innovation Day in Walsall today. The event is an opportunity for innovative products that have recently been introduced to Barhale to be presented more widely within the company so that utilisation can be maximised and the benefits of those products exploited to the maximum.
Grid to Go was demonstrated in conjunction with our rental partner.
Off Grid Energy were very privileged to be invited to the the PNDC in Cumbernauld on it’s official opening in May. Our Director Danny Jones was there to demonstrate our Grid to Go hybrid generator and explain its benefits to Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond.
The Power Networks Demonstration Centre is part of Scottish Enterprise’s investment in the Energy Sector and plays a key role in Scotland’s Smart Grid Strategy.

Everyone at Off Grid Energy is very excited to have been nominated for the ERA awards taking place in Paris later this month. Our Grid to Go Hybrid generator is nominated in the Product of the Year category. Grid to Go is aimed at reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in power generation for the construction and events industries.
The nomination recognises the huge impact that Hybrid Power generation solutions is having in saving fuel and reducing carbon emissions in the sectors. A host of other benefits include reduced servicing and refuelling costs, longer generator life and enhanced power security. Another great benefit is the fact that Grid to Go is silent in operation so offers a solution for power needs in places where noise might be a sensitive issue.
An ability to integrate renewables is another huge benefit; something that is otherwise impossible and pointless in portable power generation.
